CCI employs around 100 people to serve over 250 clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in three primary locations: Durango, Cortez, and Pagosa Springs. We hire both full time and part time workers.
Community Connections does more than simply provide services - we are dedicated to changing the status quo. For too long, people with disabilities have been denied access to our broader society and have endured decades of explicit and implicit segregation. Community Connections is dedicated to building equity, autonomy, and access to live truly fulfilling and integrated lives, and we need passionate people to further this cause. If you are an advocate, have lived experience, or have a passion for justice, we want to hear from you!
Community Connections staff act as ambassadors, mentors, and teachers while supporting people with disabilities to become valued members of our community. We help people set goals and attain those goals. We advocate with our clients to help them lead the lives they want to live. And we also have a lot of fun on the job!

“My staff has an amazing imagination. He’s a super nice, kind guy. I love that about him! They listen, hear me, and help me.”
“My staff taught me what true friendship is. They are great at helping me find cool new things to do. They introduced me to billiards and taught me not to be too hard on myself. They are the best friend I have ever had. They helped me better understand myself and help me like and love myself.”
“My staff have helped me cook and shop, run errands and go to Dr. appointments, which has helped me to learn how to budget. They helped me be successful living in my own home for the first time and it feels great to have that independence!”
“My staff helps me volunteer with meals on wheels. I really like to help other people and have done it for a long time. My staff is really funny and helps me advocate for my choices.”
