The Children’s Extensive Support (CES) program provides a variety of supports to families with children who have significant behavioral or medical needs. Potential services available through CES include:
Adaptive Therapeutic Recreational Equipment & Fees
Community Connector Services
Home Accessibility Adaptations
Professional Services (Hippotherapy, Movement Therapy, Massage)
Specialized Medical Equipment and Supplies
To qualify for this program a child must:
Have a developmental delay (birth through 4) or a developmental disability (5-17) as defined by the State of Colorado [link to Rule here] and the Social Security Administration
Be living with a natural or adoptive parent
Be at risk of institutionalization
Demonstrate a behavior or have a medical condition that requires direct human intervention, more intense than a verbal reminder, re-direction or brief observation of medical status, at least once every two hours during the day and on a weekly average of every three hours during the night
A child can be on the waiting list for the CWA Waiver while receiving other Medicaid programs. The state's Children's Waiver Chart gives additional details.
